Boğaziçi Ventures Invests 3 Million TL in Mafia Games!
Mafia Games, a local gaming startup that develops hybrid casual games based on chance and skill, has received a 3 million TL investment from Boğaziçi Ventures to accelerate its global growth.
Turkey, which ranks among the top 3 in the game development ecosystems of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, has seen numerous successful exits in recent years. More than 500 small and medium-sized game studios have been established, fueling the sector’s rapid growth with a strong influx of creative talent.
Through its BV Growth fund, which invests in gaming, fintech, retail technologies, and digital health, Boğaziçi Ventures contributes to the growth of the ecosystem by investing in technologies that can quickly scale in international markets. With this vision, the fund has invested in Mafia Games, a local gaming venture founded by Fatih Polat and Serkan Aksu, which focuses on games built around chance and skill.
The investment announcement was made during Boğaziçi Ventures’ weekly Clubhouse event, where a conversation was held with Mafia Games covering topics such as game ideation, design, publishing, legal processes in the gaming industry, and Turkey’s gaming ecosystem.

Boğaziçi Ventures partner, serial investor, and gaming industry expert Burak Balık announced the investment live on Clubhouse:
“When investing in a venture, we usually look at whether we share the same vision and dreams. During our discussions with Mafia Games, we realized we shared the same dreams, which made us very excited.”
It was also noted during the session that there are very few successful global games in the chance-and-skill-based category, indicating a huge untapped potential.
“With Boğaziçi Ventures’ investment, we will strengthen our power and move rapidly toward our goals.”
Mafia Games co-founder Serkan Aksu commented:

The Mafia Games team, which has long worked in the chance-and-skill-based gaming space, emphasized that their collaboration with mathematicians, economists, and data scientists to design such games is the key factor that differentiates them from other studios.
