Boğaziçi Ventures Invests 3 Million TL in Fiber Games!

Fiber Games, a local gaming startup that has already proven its success in the hypercasual segment, has received a 3 million TL investment from Boğaziçi Ventures, bringing its company valuation to 30 million TL. With this funding, the company plans to strengthen its team and accelerate its growth.
Turkey’s gaming industry, which generates over 1 billion USD annually in export revenues, continues to expand rapidly.
Through its BV Growth Fund, which invests in gaming, fintech, retail technologies, and digital health, Boğaziçi Ventures supports the ecosystem by investing in technologies that can rapidly scale in international markets. With this strategy, Boğaziçi Ventures has invested in Fiber Games, a local gaming startup founded by Faruk Akıncı, Sinan Akkol, and Volkan Turan, known for titles like Kral Şakir: Adventure Island and Weld It 3D, and focused on developing hypercasual and casual games.
The investment was announced during a surprise Clubhouse event, where Boğaziçi Ventures and Fiber Games also hosted a discussion on game ideation, design, publishing, and Turkey’s gaming ecosystem.
“Game development is in Turkey’s DNA.”
Boğaziçi Ventures partner, serial investor, and gaming industry expert Burak Balık shared the news during the Clubhouse session:
“With mobile becoming part of our lives, incredible things have happened in Turkey’s gaming ecosystem. We’ve trained a huge number of developers and designers. Game development is in Turkey’s DNA. We’ve seen very successful exits in recent years, and I’m sure there will be a second and third wave.”
Balık added that the discussions with Fiber Games were exciting from the start, emphasizing that Fiber Games is a venture they believed in wholeheartedly.
“Our goal is to launch multiple HIT games.”
Fiber Games co-founder Faruk Akıncı said that with this investment, their goal in 2021 is to launch new hypercasualgames—quick, easy-to-play titles that can be enjoyed even during short commutes—that will make a global impact.
Describing the company’s path forward, Akıncı explained:
“We are currently producing hypercasual titles with our publisher, Rollic Games. Our first major success was Weld it 3D, which entered the Top 10 iOS charts in 154 countries. With our 14-member team, we are able to test around 10 different prototypes per month. Our aim is to release multiple HIT games in the near future and create new experiences that will become Fiber Games’ signature.”
The Fiber Games team emphasized that their vision and energy align closely with Boğaziçi Ventures, whose founding partners have a strong track record in the gaming ecosystem, and that this partnership will help them reach their goals much faster.
